Decide whether the task suits generation

Separate organising existing information from making a new business decision. Summarising notes, drafting alternatives and rephrasing approved descriptions have identifiable inputs. Product promises, pricing and delivery conditions require someone who understands the business to decide.

Ask whether you could detect and correct an error using the material you already have. If there is no way to confirm the result, do not turn it directly into public copy. Use it as a list of questions that helps gather the missing information instead.

Compare results using the same task

When comparing tools or instructions, use the same input and goal. For example, ask each approach to organise a service brief into an introduction, scope, process and common questions. Consistent inputs make differences easier to interpret.

Set criteria beforehand: missing details, unsupported additions, useful structure and ease of editing. The most fluent first impression is not always the most usable draft. A restrained result that identifies gaps may be easier to bring into a real project.

Break a long task into reviewable results

Asking for a site structure, all articles, image descriptions and translation in one step mixes many different decisions. Confirm the material list first, then the structure, then one page at a time. Each step should have a defined input and a result that can be inspected.

Carry approved decisions into later steps. The brand name, audience, tone and promises that must not be used should remain part of the task material. Otherwise, separate pages of the same website can develop contradictory descriptions.

Try editing and delivery as well as generation

Complete a small delivery exercise: change a paragraph, replace an image, inspect the mobile page and check that an earlier version is recoverable. A generation demonstration does not show how these everyday tasks will work.

Consider the person who will maintain the result. Understandable files, editable text and clear ownership of resources make handover easier. Include maintenance and future changes when deciding whether the workflow suits the project.

Give the trial an end point

Agree a task and a point at which to judge the trial, such as producing an approved bilingual service page and completing one revision and publication. Record which steps to keep, which to drop and what remains unresolved.

If a method repeatedly creates work that must be rewritten, stop using that step rather than expanding it because time has already been invested. Judge the tool by the task's result: clearer material, manageable editing and accurate, usable content for customers.
